LOLA & STELLA

LOLA & STELLA

Eva, her husband, Art, who she met in college & their 2 adorable French Bulldogs-Lola and Stella-live in Pittsburgh, PA. She is a professional photographer and specializes in wedding, portrait & pet photography. She is the founder of Eva Lin Photography and also a yoga teacher; which is why they decided to name their dog's Instagram handle as yogafrenchie!
.
This beautiful family is all about the minimalist lifestyle - trying to keep everything white, black, grey or neutral. These colors allow them to focus our energy and pay attention to other integral parts of their lives! The couple always wanted a dog, and fell in love with the funny but adorable nature of French Bulldogs. They would watch videos of French Bulldogs on Youtube for hours before and soon people started gifting them Frenchie art and home décor. They really had no option but to get, and gladly so, a Frenchie as their first dog!
.
Eva’s husband surprised her with Lola on her birthday, 3 years ago. It was really hard to find a good breeder that wasn't a puppy mill, and he ended up finding a family in Tennessee who had a Frenchie and wanted more puppies. He ended up flying Lola to Pittsburgh, and came home, with her, one morning. Eva was so surprised and in love with Lola right away! She remembers that day so vividly as she just sat there while Lola on her lap. Not wanting to wake her up, Eva canceled all her plans for the day. Lola's original name was Lily, which is Eva’s mom's name, so they changed it to something close so it wouldn't get confusing!
.
About a year into having Lola, they wanted to get Lola a sibling so that she wouldn't be bored or lonely at home. One day, a friend sent her a link to adopt dogs, and it turned out to be a French Bulldog named Stella. She immediately contacted the foster mom to meet Stella. Stella’s back was stooped, probably from having too many puppies, she had giant nipples, and one floppy ear which they found out was because of an untreated ear infection. The foster mom said she was very sweet, but really crazy about food and couldn't be put in a crate as she had hurt herself trying to break out of it. She said Stella was between 6-9 years old and recently had a tumor removed from her back leg. It was going to be a lot of work taking care of a senior dog but they were in love already. Stella immediately became part of their family.
.
The first few days were a little rough as they found out the hard way about Stella's determination and her craziness for food! Once, Eva left a bag of dog food, in an Amazon box on top of a chair. When Art got home from work, he found that she had dragged the entire bag (which is more than her own body weight) off the chair, into another room, and tore open both the bag and the box and both the French Bulldogs had a feast. They then pooped all over their house! A few more instances followed before child locks were put on all of the drawers. They have no idea the kind of life she has lived before she came into theirs, but they know it probably wasn't great. They are determined to give her all the love and joy she deserves.
.
Eva works from home most days so the girls sleep in their dog bed underneath her desk. Although more often than not, they protest to come sit on the seat with her (which is meant for one person) and she ends up with either just one inch of the seat or she has to go bring a separate chair to sit on! Sometimes when she is practicing yoga at home they decide to join her! Eva says their favorite time of day is after Art comes home from work and they are all just sitting together on the couch. Lola likes to sit on their laps or bury herself underneath blankets, and Stella just loves to be pet.
.
Lola loves playing with other dogs and going on walks, and to the dog park. Stella is very gentle and docile, and just loves to be around people. Stella also loves to sleep and sometimes she will protest only after about 10 feet of walking! They are both very cuddly and love to snuggle. They are typical Frenchies who snort and fart all the time, but that's just part of their lovability!
Stella recently got diagnosed with mast cell cancer , and started chemotherapy. They cannot imagine their lives without her and hope to just give her the best life she deserves.
